TERM 1
Week 1 (7/10/2019~13/10/2019) Introduction & Reference
During week 1 I got some information about classes and the rules in a class. I think the most important rule is attendance. Next, I was taught about the ways to referencing. Reference is a really important work we have to do. Without reference, it can be seen a crime behaviour when we use others words. I also learnt about benefit of Organisational Behaviours and do some speaking and reading practice about charities. By the way, OB is the study of what people do in an organisation and how their behaviours affect the organisation’s performance.
Week 2 (14/10/2019~20/10/2019) SWOT Analysis
In week 2, I learned the definition of organisational culture. Organisational culture can be seen as a cognitive framework consisting of assumptions and values shared by organisation members. Furthermore, I learned 4 types of organisational culture include Charles Handy, Johnson Scholes and Whittington, Hofstede and Schein`s organisation culture. In addition, we also do some listening exercise. Finally, we know about the SWOT Analysis. SWOT Analysis is used to evaluate the Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats involved in a project, or any other situation requiring a decision (Hay and Castilla, 2006).
Week 3 (21/10/2019~27/10/2019) Organisational Structure and Writing Skills
In this week, there are five types of organisational structures I have learned. It is very useful for my assignment. Five structures include Functional, Geographical, Products, Customer, and Matrix structures. After that, we also mentioned the relationship between organisational structure and organisational culture. Finally, we discussed the difference between leadership and management. For English learning, we practiced writing introduction of an essay and did some reading exercises. The most difficult things to learn is grammar. Therefore, in next few days I will make an effort for English grammar. Next week, I will get exam, so I settled down to study in earnest for the examination.
Week 4 (28/10/2019~02/11/2019) Examination and Motivation
In this week, I had mid-term exam for listening, writing, and reading. I found the difficulty about listening and writing, and I realized that I failed the exam. Therefore, I think I need to improve my listening skills and do some practice about academic writing. Reading, which a subject I also need to practice. Next, I learned the theory of leadership and motivation. I believe that the motivation is a very important factor that we need to have. Only we motivate to do something, that we will succeed. Leadership theory helps me to understand how should we play a role in an organisation as a leader. In addition, different leadership style can make different results in an organisation. These theories really help me to write my assignment, I feel.
Week 5 (03/11/2019~10/11/2019) Assignment and Mid-term Result
In week 5, we just worked our assignment. For a better writing, I always go to the library and do some research. There are a lot of useful materials that I can reference. Therefore, I decided to go often the library. In English class, I got my mid-term result, it is not good. I did not pass my listening test. I feel sad, and I realised that I need to do more exercises about listening. Writing test is also not really good, I found that I am lack of academic vocabulary and my grammar is very terrible. Thus, I also need to remember more vocabulary and start to learn grammar. In the next time, I think I should make a new plan on English learning.
Week 6: (11/11/2019~17/11/2019) Midterm Feedback and Presentation
In week six, I had a face to face feedback about my midterm. Teacher said that I need to improve my academic vocabulary which a problem I have realised. She suggested me to do more reading, and showed me a link about academic vocabulary. I think I should develop an interest of reading, despite reading a little bit every day. It is also a good way to know more knowledge that is very useful.
In this week, I prepared my presentation with my group members. This presentation is focus on organisational conflict in Samsung company. In the process of preparation, I found that our group also has a conflict. Therefore, I always try to find a way to solve our problems. Knowing the area about organisational conflict is very important to me when I work in a group. I hope that I can deal the problems in our group as soon as possible.
Week 7: (18/11/2019~24/11/2019) Presentation Practice and Exam Practice
In this week, our group finished the power point about presentation, and we also wrote done scripts. In the class, Daxa asked us to simulate the presentation as a practice, and she gave us some advices that are very useful. After that, we found some ourselves problems such as self-confidence and improved the quality of presentation. In next week, we will keep practicing our presentation and aim to get a high score.
In English class, we did some work about external English exam because there are some people in our class need to take exam in this term. We did a writing which focus on opinion essay, then took the reading and listening exam. I found that I may do better this time than midterm, especially listening. it makes me more confident and motivate me to do a harder work. Therefore, I will keep going on daily practice.
Week 8 (25/11/2019~01/12/2019) Final Class
This week we finished all the classes. At first, I got my results of last week`s reading and listening test. It is much higher than midterm that makes me happy. In addition, we learn about writing which focus on problems and solutions. I found that it is easier to write an essay than before. I think watching news every day is exactly help me to improve listening skills as well as writing skills. Therefore, I will keep it on.
In OB class, I checked all my works again and submitted it. Through the learning in this class, I have learnt a lot of knowledge about business. Moreover, I have improved my independent learning skills when I did my individual work.
In next term, I am going to continue practice my English and hope that I can do better than this term.
TERM 2
Week 1 (13/01/2020~17/01/2020) Start of Term 2
This is the first week in term 2. We have already started learning again while I have not prepared enough. Anyway, I have to concentrate on my work again. In this term, I have Strategic Thinking class, Research Project class, PSD class, and English class to attend. Furthermore, I have more assignment to do than last term, and I predict that I will get more stress than last term. However, I believe that I can finish them on time.
In this week, we have been told the requirement of assignment and got some basic information of our work. It seems like more interesting to learn the new subject. I have already made a plan for this term and set new goals to reach. In English class, we also knew that we have to take the OCTOE exam at the end of this term. Therefore, I must work hard and try to pass my exam.
Cheers to a new year and another challenge for me to reach it. I believe that I can get good grades again.
Week 2 (20/01/2020~24/01/2020) Select the Topic of New Assignment
In this week, we started doing research for the Research Project assignment. I have decided my topic which is related to consumer psychology. It will mainly talk about the difference shopping attitude between female and male, the reasons for spending too much money on shopping and the definition of the herd consumption.
For strategy thinking class, we have done the introduction of Aston Martin and have already presented it. Next, our group needs to do the research about internal and external analysis. Next Monday we have to draft two chapters of report which makes me feel a little pressure, because we also have lots of things need to be done.
Finally, in English class, we focus on grammar to improve the writing skills, since it is the most difficult for us.
I think I need to manage my time again to do a better work in next week. Everything should be on the schedule.
Week 3 (27/01/2020~31/01/2020) Group Report for Aston Martin
In this week, we finished the Chapter 1 of group report, and have started the Chapter 2. It is pretty difficult to find some information and analysis them about Aston Martin, especially the competitor analysis is the most difficult for me. I think I need to take more effort on it.
About research project, I have found seven materials for question 1 and found that almost journals agree that females and males are different in shopping attitudes and females give a more positive attitude.
Lastly in English class, I learned that how to write a hypothesis sentences as well as vocabularies about culture. We also did some listening practice and the result was not bad.
Next week will be the midterm exam week, so I should spend much more time on studying in this weekends for good results.
Week 4 (04/02/2020~07/02/2020) Mid-term
This week is the mid-term. In this week, we just keep doing our report and research, nothing special. We have almost finished the chapter 2 for group report and should check our work again then continue to do chapter 3.
For research project, I have finished the taxonomy for question one and start to do question two. I found that something interesting. In general, many people think females are better shopper than males but sometimes males are better.
In English class, this week we took the exam, and I hope that I can get good grades.
Week 5 (10/02/2020~14/02/2020) Report Submit and Speaking Test
In this week, we were required to draft the group report. After four days efforts with my team members, we finally finished the report but seems also have some problems. Next week we will get the feedback and suppose to revise the report. Now, I start my individual report which relate to group report.
When I did some research for question two about research project, I found that there were not too many resources can be used. Otherwise, some journals were too hard to understand them. I think I need to go to the library and find some books to help me to understand the concept about consumer psychology.
About my blog, I have done half of tasks, and will try to make the video presentation as soon as possible. The video contents maybe related to classical music.
On Friday, I took the English speaking exam, it quite easier than I thought. After the test, I have confidence in the English exam. I believe that I will pass it.
Week 6 (17/02/2020~21/02/2020) Mid-term Feedback
Last week we are required to submit draft of all works for and got the feedback this week. For group report, I think we got good grade and our tutor give us some advices to do a better work. By following her advices we have been revised our work this week and almost finished. Next week, I should start focusing on my individual report.
About English exam, I got both reading and listening 75% as well as writing 65%. According to midterm results, I believe that I can get good result at the final exam. For the remaining three weeks, I will more focus on vocabulary which is one of my weakness.
Week 7 (24/02/2020~28/02/2020) Learn to Write a CV
In this week, I just focused on my individual report, it quite difficult. I did a lot of research and tried finishing half of work, but I found that I misunderstanding the basic theories and requirements. Therefore, I have to revise my report.
I also learnt how to write a CV from Youtube, it much more easier than I thought. Since I have understood the method of writing it, I finished it quickly. Finally, I have finished my blog assignment.
In English class, our tutor attended her meeting so that another tutor covered our class. Her class is interesting that I can pay all my attention on it. I think I spent a quite happy time with her.
Next week is the final week of this term, and we are required to submit all of assignments. I think do my work as soon as possible, and make sure all my work have done well.
Week 8 (02/03/2020~06/03/2020) End of Term 2
This week is the final week of this term. In this week I was busy to finish my work and check my work. However, I still have a group presentation in next week, so I have to prepare for it. Since I have got all subjects’ feedback and then revised it, I believe that I can get good grade.
Next week, I have a very important exam which is English exam. On Monday, I have a speaking test. The topic has been sent to me by email, it is about learning English. I think it is a quite easy topic for me. On Tuesday, I have listening, reading, and writing test. I am worried about my writing because it is my weakness, so before writing test, I need to remember some academic words and some good sentences. I hope that I can do well in the exam and pass it.
